The Sr. Manager, Supplier Relationship Management will support and execute the strategies, short-and-long-range goals, plans and capabilities of the Vendor Performance team.

 

Manage the relationships with US. Foods suppliers to maximize value generation and service performance.

 

Lead the supply chain vendor performance team and partner with functions across the enterprise, including Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and Logistics to conduct goal setting around cost savings, diverse spend, risk mitigation, performance improvement goals, etc.

 

Support customized supplier programs focused on compliance, performance and relationship incentives.

 

Oversee technology components tied to supporting supplier visibility and relationship management.

Flexible Work Policy: The Sr. Manager, Supplier Relationship Management position has been segmented as Hybrid, meaning the work is a combination of onsite (2 days per week) and virtual (3 days per week). This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in Rosemont, IL.

Program manage supplier management short-and-long-range plans to deliver on enterprise objectives.

Foster strong relationships across all suppliers toward mutually beneficial goals, fulfillment of all contract conditions, and alignment with US. Foods strategy and business aspirations.

Responsible for driving optimized service and cost across the supplier base, inclusive of suppliers’ fulfillment of agreed rate levels, on-time delivery, schedule compliance, on-time in full, product quality, reporting, invoicing, etc.

Responsible for supplier management, inclusive of systems, audit compliance, network optimization, benchmarking and overall governance

Establish and maintain a robust supplier data / forecast sharing program that is both supported by technology and effective toward increasing fill rate, traceability and overall optimization of warehouse productivity.

Support a risk management framework to identify and assess key potential risks and identify and minimize potential issues in advance.

Coordinate incentive and credit programs for the supplier base to reward or penalize performance execution based on defined contract conditions, comprehensive performance and our target KPI’s (Fill Rate, On Time Delivery, etc.).

Communicate and collaborate with Sales, Replenishment, Merchandising, Category Management, National Accounts, Program Office, and Supply Chain teams on supplier management-related questions, concerns or support needed.

SUPERVISION:

Team of 3-4 Vendor Associates (may start will no direct reports)

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Other Replenishment teams, Operations, Logistics, Merchandising, SBS, Category Management, Insights & Analytics, Human Resources and IT

External: Suppliers, Consultants, Contractors

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years of work experience managing supplier programs and relationships in Foodservice or Retail environment.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access)

5-10% travel may be required

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field; Master’s degree or MBA is a plus

Proven record leading strategic / analytical projects.

Demonstrated ability to execute complex, cross-functional projects.

Proven record of training / mentoring / developing junior resources.

Continuous improvement mindset: vigilant in identifying ways to challenge the status quo.

Strong aptitude for making data-based decisions and developing ways to utilize data.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills a must; negotiation skills preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects – prioritization, planning and task delegation.
