WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh is seeking a highly experienced writer specialized in writing health education content for consumer and professional audiences and a variety of materials and products on behalf of federal government agencies including those of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. This individual would work closely with multifaceted project teams. This job is best suited for an individual with direct experience supporting fast-paced, deadline driven government health communications contracts.
Responsibilities include:
Leading the development of plain language content on complex biomedical health topics for a variety of audiences.
Writing responses to public inquiries on a range of health topics.
Gathering and digesting background research to inform content development.
Writing and editing resources including fact sheets, web pages, reports, and other products.
Guiding a review process that includes internal reviews by SMEs and project managers, as well as multiple federal agency reviews.
Performs quality reviews to ensure documents are accurate; consistent with applicable regulations, policies, and guidance; and written at an appropriate level.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical field with ten (10) or more years of professional health/medical writing and editing experience on a range of health/science topics, or equivalent combination of education and experience in writing, communication, science, or related disciplines. Master’s degree preferred.
Ability to translate technical scientific content into plain language for multiple audiences.
Professional writing and editing experience that includes new content writing.
Comfort adhering to style guides, government writing requirements and clearance processes.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver outstanding content on tight deadlines.
Experience working in a federal government contracting environment.
Experience interacting with client(s) and adept at steering conversations to identify solutions on edits/comments raised on written work.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements.
