Your Impact

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for providing analysis of customer requirements and developing technical responses to meet their business needs. You will work directly with the sales, engineering and proposal organizations to understand and provide technical leadership for qualifying and deploying Axon software solutions in law enforcement agencies across the country. You will lead the technical responses for sales requests including standardizing and streamlining our proposal content.

Federal Sales Engineer

Location: Remotely from United States, and on the road 75-90% of time

Reports to: VP, Federal Deployments

Direct Reports: N/A

Set and manage expectations with senior stakeholders and team members

Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle for opportunities

Analyze incoming RFPs and provide strategic, and accurate technical responses that reflect Axon’s mission and product capabilities.

Where possible, improve or develop technical documentation to ease understanding and customer or channel usage of our products and services

Work with a team of networking and software professionals to deliver Axon technology to federal clients

Ensure a robust and feasible implementation plan is presented to potential customers

Analyzes IT system architectures for the purposes of scoping technical projects and recommending system improvements

Engage with a federal agencys technical and non-technical leadership to communicate project progress and information

What You Bring

Demonstrated analytical skills through understanding and defining complex subject material.

Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Service (CJIS) background check and maintain CJIS clearance. Handle confidential and highly sensitive information.

Experience analyzing and developing technical systems and solutions (networking, applications, and services).

Experience engaging client stakeholders at all levels with detail presentations and requirements gathering.

Understanding of project management.

Understanding of business process analysis.

Able to effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, and tasks within a dynamic environment.

Effective communication with both technical and non-technical people, including clients and vendors.

Rigorous attention to detail and excellent technical writing skills including grammar, spelling and punctuation

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Experience in public safety industry.

Experience deploying and implementing a Records Management System (RMS), Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), or both, into a public safety agency

Experience responding to high value RFPs

Experience developing Statements of Work (SOWs)

Experience working and influencing multiple stakeholders within a cross-functional, geo-dispersed team

Compensation Band Details

The Pay: The compensation for this role is made up of an uncapped commissions and a starting base pay between USD 115,100 in the lowest geographic market and USD 172,600 in the highest geographic market. On average, the national commissions target for this role is USD. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and geographic market demands and often a combination of all these factors.
