Your role as Risk Manager
Reporting to Aiham Zawahreh, Director of RIsk & Compliance, you will support Dialogue (a subsidiary of Sun Life) in meeting its objectives by designing and implementing risk & compliance processes. You will support the organization in understanding and managing its risks, shaping Dialogue’s risk and compliance management capabilities to safeguard our business, clients, members, and partners. Your expertise will enable the business to navigate complex risk landscapes effectively. The candidate needs to have breadth in their experience and the ability to dive deep in certain risk domains when required
What you’ll be doing:
Designing and deploying risk management policies, processes, training and tools for a variety of risks : Business continuity, third party risk management, information management, governance, etc.
Supporting the business in identifying and evaluating risks and controls, and defining improvements
Supporting the implementation of new or updated risk and compliance requirements by assessing their impact on business areas and aiding in the design and maintenance of processes/controls.
Providing risk consulting expertise and operational support through risk reviews for key business projects, digital initiatives, questions, and process changes
Conducting periodic monitoring controls and compliance reviews
Monitoring and tracking status of risk issues and activities
Building and presenting risk reporting by synthesizing findings and proposing strategic risk recommendations to business partners and management
Maintaining strong/effective working relationships with all business partners
Provide operational support for various risk & compliance questions
Supporting in Audits (internal & external) and third party questionnaires
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Experience in various (3+) risk and compliance management practices (Business continuity, third party risk, information management, Model end-user computing, governance, compliance, etc)
Great project and stakeholder management skills
4 years of experience in risk management, with experience in heavily regulated industry
Some experience and interest in compliance
General knowledge of the financial services industry and related Canadian regulation would be an asset (namely AMF or OSFI)
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Please note that as we operate across Canada, bilingualism is essential for this position. You may be required to communicate in French and English.
