Job Description

The Publications Project Management Senior Manager will be responsible for the project management of multiple publication plans within the Publications group. By partnering closely with Project Leaders and cross-functional Project Team members, this role will fully integrate project plans to ensure that Publications deliverables are successfully executed in accordance with project objectives. The individual will also be responsible for comprehensive communication, including status reporting, risk management, and escalation of issues to Publication team management and cross-functional stakeholders. Responsibilities include improving tools and processes to further streamline and enhance project management flow.

This is a hybrid position which allows remote work 2 days per week and 3 days per week in the Boston Fan Pier office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops plans and logistics for projects, gaining cooperation and consensus among cross-functional team members

Regularly interacts with functional areas beyond their own department and with external stakeholders

Conducts scenario planning to proactively provide analysis and recommendations on alternative plans, along with the associated assumptions and risks

Effectively summarizes key information such as project progress, timeline updates, and risk/opportunity assessments for periodic updates to management

Proactively provides key project issues and status to senior management to ensure alignment

Compiles succinct reports and prepares minutes for select internal TRAVEL”>TRAVEL”>meetings; methodically tracks all action items

Contributes to the best practices of project management to support the continued success and evolution of the department

Coordinates the tools used within the department and looks for opportunities for improvement

May mentor junior Publication project managers

Knowledge and Skills:

In depth knowledge of Publications project planning

Experience in managing cross-functional project teams and personnel; maintaining procedural and ethical standards and cultivating healthy team morale

Highly effective communicator (verbal and written) within all levels of the department and cross functionally throughout the organization

Demonstrated effectiveness as a TRAVEL”>meeting leader

Skilled in conflict resolution and effectively moving projects forward

Able to manage a large portfolio of projects effectively, ensuring alignment with corporate goals

Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite and iEnvision

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree

Typically requires 6 years or more of work experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, in Publications Project Management
