Reporting to the Director of Operations, this individual will provide end-to-end project management support for critical academic initiatives, ensuring that goals are accomplished within scope, time, budget, and in-line with business objectives, quality, and integrity parameters.

Essential Duties

Leads project planning from inception to conclusion

Collaborates with project teams and key stakeholders to defines project scope, goals, plans, deliverables, timelines, milestones, tasks, and risks.

Estimates the resources and team members needed to complete projects.

Drafts and submits budget proposals, as needed.

Develops, with key stakeholders, communication strategies & associated documents

Monitors and documents project status, milestones, deliverables, budget, and risks

Effectively communicates project expectations and updates within the project teams and other applicable stakeholders.

Proactively manages changes and devises contingency plans.

Identifies areas for greater efficiencies & process improvements.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Skills

Demonstrated successful project management experience

Ability to work autonomously

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Must have strong relationship management skills

Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Proficient in Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar project management software

Excellent oral and written communication skills, up & down the management chain as well as horizontally to internal stakeholders

Work Experience

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in project management roles. Experience in the higher-education space is preferred, but not required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.

Other

Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 – 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%).

Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.

If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.

Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.

Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers.

Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant. Accommodations related to schedule may be considered.

$73,900.00 – $110,900.00 – Salary
