Volt is immediately hiring for a Nuclear Licensing Engineer in Bellevue, WA.
100% REMOTE
As a Nuclear Licensing Engineer you will:
This position reports to a Licensing Manager and provides licensing support to the MCFR advanced reactor project, develops licensing documents, and supports regulatory engagements. Work will be in close consultation with Engineering staff and will ensure Licensing documents are created in accordance with licensing strategy and guidance. Supports preparation and interaction with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission including pre-application discussions, preparing/reviewing Application (Construction Permit/Operating License) content, and preparing/reviewing topical reports.
Responsibilities
Drafts, authors, and reviews licensing documents including sections of a Construction Permit Application, Preliminary Safety Analysis Report, Operating License Application, Final Safety Analysis Report, and Environmental Report
Interface with the Licensing Team to complete licensing tasks
Coordinating with design personnel to ensure designs and design changes meet regulatory requirements
Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining licensing documentation in compliance with regulations and quality assurance standards
Interfacing with technical discipline teams
Preparing and reviewing technical material
Reviewing correspondence to and from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent experience
Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
Self-Starter with ability to manage deadlines
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe
5 or more years demonstrated, applicable experience in nuclear licensing, quality assurance, project management, or equivalent experience in a comparable field
Familiarity with US NRC 10 CFR regulations and guidance
Familiarity with application of a risk-informed performance based framework for licensing advanced reactors
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on writing and interpersonal skills
The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork
Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications
This is a full time contingent opportunity.
Pay Rate: $75.00 – $83.00 per hour
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
