Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support our DOD government customer.

The Senior Network Engineer will design, build, deploy, install, troubleshoot, and support network systems and related cloud services.

Responsible for local and wide area network configuration, management of customer infrastructures, systems planning, capacity planning, testing, and validation.

Provides technical and engineering support and deploys and configures networking hardware and software.

Tests and assesses network systems, solves problems, mitigates risks, and develops solutions.

Responsibilities

Manages and configures network hardware, software, operating systems, and attached devices.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation.

Designs, installs, maintains, and supports LAN, WAN, video, and VoIP infrastructures.

Troubleshoots technical issues and develops and implements solutions.

Designs, configures, and manages network security features for custom networks.

Performs preventive and fault isolation maintenance on existing networks.

Creates and maintains as built and other systems drawings (flowcharts, diagrams)

Supports operational and maintenance phases for as-built systems.

Supports data center operations.

Participates in special projects as required.

Designing and implementing Citrix solutions

Configuring and optimizing Citrix infrastructure

Troubleshooting and resolving Citrix-related issues

Managing Citrix servers and applications

Collaborating with other IT teams and stakeholders

Designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based systems and applications

Evaluating and determining the best cloud options for the engineering and development teams

Migrating existing on-premises systems and applications to the cloud

Debugging and troubleshooting cloud issues and ensuring security and efficiency

Interacting with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide cloud support and recommendations.

Technical Skills Required

Design, implementation, and support of network infrastructures.

Engineering of multiprotocol routers/switches, network security devices and firewalls, and network management systems

Provisioning and troubleshooting circuits.

Windows and Linux operating systems

Familiarization with virtualization technologies including VMware.

Security and VPN solutions

Application delivery controllers

Link aggregation, spanning tree, span/rspan, and tracing network issues.

Enterprise applications including MS Remote Desktop and Visio

Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls – installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, certifications, and work experience

7+ years of relevant experience in network/systems analysis, design, installation, and maintenance

7+ years of experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a small team environment with minimal supervision.

Must have DOD IAT Level III Certification CISSP/CISM/CASP+

Must have Secret or higher clearance is required.

Must have U.S. Citizenship
