What You Will Do:
As the Grants Officer, you will be responsible for growing, sustaining and stewarding a portfolio of institutional contributors to support NatureBridge and our programs. This is a great opportunity to advance professionally as a member of an experienced and welcoming development team at a stable nonprofit organization with a long-standing reputation for excellence in the environmental education sector.
This full-time, exempt position is fully remote.
Your primary job will be to:
Prospect Research
Research, identify, prioritize and cultivate foundation, corporate and government grant prospects
Compose concise analytical prospect summaries and present well-reasoned plans of action.
Work with the Director of Institutional Giving to implement a comprehensive strategy to meet annual institutional fundraising goals, steward existing donors and engage new funders.
Collaborate to support NatureBridge campuses, programs and national initiatives.
Foundation, Corporate and Government Relations
Produce quality narratives, letters of inquiry, grant proposals and reports.
Collaborate to produce all required materials to accompany institutional grants such as budgets, financial data, staff biographies, required forms, etc.
Manage proposal packages via grant websites or submission protocols, monitor progress and outcomes using NatureBridge processes, and sustain institutional funders through thoughtful, individualized stewardship strategies.
Use NatureBridge systems (Salesforce) to compile campus program participant data, demographics, post-program surveys and other data points for accurate reporting to funders.
Development Operations
Conduct institutional research and evaluation efforts: compile campus program participant data, demographics, post-program surveys, and other data points for accurate reporting externally and for informed decision-making internally.
Participate in institutional team meetings, monthly development department meetings, staff meetings, retreats and fundraising events as needed.
Carefully track all grant activities and input information into NatureBridge’s donor database (Raiser’s Edge NXT), update internal records, deliver timely donor thank yous and prepare internal reports.
Collaborate in editing and proofreading written materials; partner with finance, communications and gifts teams for budget preparation, grant administration and compliance, donor recognition and reporting.
Other duties as assigned.
Compensation:
$65,000-70,000 annually

Qualifications
Who You Are:
We are looking for candidates who have:
Commitment to the mission of NatureBridge, environmental science education, and/or national parks.
At least three years of professional fundraising experience, or a combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in the workplace. We especially encourage you to apply if you are a member of (or have extensive experience working with people from) any communities that are impacted by the historic and current system of oppression that has limited access to environmental education, or the outdoors in general.
Excellent writing, proofreading, editing and verbal communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated success working independently and as part of a team with a flexible, proactive approach.
Strong research skills and prior experience writing successful grant proposals.
Effective and efficient data management skills (Raiser’s Edge and/or Salesforce experience is a plus).
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, time management skills and ability to prepare and submit multiple deliverables on time in a deadline-driven environment.
Availability for occasional travel to NatureBridge campuses/offices.
