LOCATION: Cherry Hill, NJ
COMPENSATION: $120k – $150k
REMOTE / ONSITE: Hybrid
Our client, an industry-leading freight forwarding brokerage, is looking to identify their first Controller to join the leadership team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$120k â $150k plus Bonus
Position Overview:
The Controller will be focused on enhancing the day-to-day accounting operation and will have a strategic focus on revamping the policies/procedures.
The Controller will work directly with the C-suite and CFO to tackle challenges including learning the ins and outs of the ERP system, performing risk assessments, and establishing GAAP compliance. The Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting including month, quarter, and year-end close.
Responsibilities of the Controller:
Manage and develop the Accounting team.
Collaborate with owners and executive team to establish best accounting practices.
Profit and loss statements.
Cash flow analysis.
Post journal entries and accruals to the balance sheet.
Present accounting reports to the Executive team and suggest process improvements.
Work with the Accounts Payable department to optimize the vendor management system review journal entries for month, year, quarter-end close.
Assist external auditors.
Qualifications for the Controller:
2+ years of accounting leadership experience.
Proven track record of building and revamping the Accounting department.
Self-starter and multitasker.
Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience.
5 â 10% travel required.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
