The Senior Compliance Specialist is an innovative process and subject matter expert for North American Bancard’s compliance-related compliance programs , framework, and of substantive compliance programs assigned. This role executes compliance requirements assigned, supports Compliance in development of processes, and facilitates implementation while contributing to the Compliance teams’ efforts toward achieving and maintaining a sustainable compliance environment that helps ensure a compliant ecosystem as well as continuity and reliability in our business practices.
The Senior Compliance Specialist works closely with other members of the Compliance team, as well as with business partners, stakeholders, and third- parties to help ensure sound and effective compliance management and oversight, to protect and strengthen our brand, and to grow confidence and commitment to our products and services.
What you’ll do:
Supports enterprise-wide Audit and Reviews Program as process and subject matter expert.
The role will be responsible for:
Day-to-day Program execution, including assessing and improving approach for end-to-end reviews and audit process execution focusing on both audits and reviews conducted internally and by third parties.
Update and maintain program documentation, including procedures and/or processes, and reporting.
Coordination of audits and reviews, including working directly with third parties seeking to conduct audits and reviews, as well as internal coordination of people, processes, and technology in preparation, and physical and electronic information coordination, collection, and management.
Maintain tracking and reporting on audits and reviews, including calendars, status, findings, responses, and remediation where warranted.
Maintain matrix of key functions and personnel, and internal and external contacts to facilitate audit and review planning.
Serve as a liaison with auditors and business partners.
Serve as subject matter expert for compliance programs and requirements for which this role is responsible.
Support processes for communications that inform key stakeholders and implement compliant changes that help ensure our compliance, and that protects our business from reputational, regulatory, contractual, and legal harm.
External engagement in industry organizations, forums and other platforms that are material to compliance and change.
What we need from you:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
At least 5 years of experience managing or supporting in a lead role audits and reviews end-to-end, including audit experience in the payments industry.
At least 3 years in payments or equivalent experience that includes working directly with the card brands (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover).
At least 2 years compliance program or framework experience (e.g., policies, procedures, training, assurance), including engagement in establishing or managing compliance functions and writing and executing procedures and processes for compliance-related programs.
Strong multitasking skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple audits or reviews at once while TRAVEL”>meeting coordination needs of each, and TRAVEL”>meeting deadlines and requirements of each review or audit.
Proven ability to analyze effectively, and to communicate, collaborate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and business partners, and external independent review entities, and critical third-parties.
Ability to lead and influence people and to successfully execute programs and strategies across functions and at senior levels using sound judgment, innovation, and imagination.
Demonstrated attention to detail with understanding of strategy and context.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to think and communicate thoughtfully and with clarity.
Strategic thinker and tactical executor – able to rapidly shift from âbig pictureâ to âdetailed operationsâ.
Strong team player with excellent track record of success in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
Leadership and judgment to analyze, evaluate, develop and effectuate solutions to complex problems.
Proven ability to develop relationships, negotiate, and problem-solve.
