JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Analyst will be responsible for the design, build, configuration, optimization, and maintenance of the MEDITECH electronic medical record. Responsibility for other applications that are integral to patient care and business operations within the acute care facilities is a primary function of this role. The analyst will integrate their knowledge of clinical workflow, vendor interactions, change management, incident management and information technology (IT) daily operations to promote exceptional patient care and a noteworthy customer experience. The analyst role includes project management functions including team leading and operationalizing key tasks that cover the project life cycle: application build, test, train, go live support, maintenance, and optimization. The analyst will participate and help to drive application adoption and metrics associated with team performance aligned to the organization’s key objectives and goals. The analyst will be an integral member of a high-performance team that delivers customer satisfaction and produces exceptional IT service and support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
System Configuration:
Design, build, configure, optimize, and maintain EMR and other application systems to meet the specific needs of healthcare facilities and ensure efficient use of the application software.
Application Life Cycle:
Is a key participant in the deployment of EHR systems and other applications that support patient care and business operations.
Data Analysis:
Ability to analyze healthcare data within EHR systems to identify trends that require ongoing support or optimization using the EMR and workflow to drive the expected result.
Compliance:
Works with key corporate stakeholders to ensure hospital applications comply with and support healthcare regulations, professional standards, and the organizations policy and procedures.
Incident Management:
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical application issues related to EMR performance, troubleshoot software problems, and coordinate with IT departments for full mitigation of the issue.
Training and Education:
Conduct training sessions for end users on how to use EHR systems effectively, provide ongoing support, and promote user adoption and a satisfactory customer experience.
System Maintenance:
Perform regular system updates, software upgrades, and maintenance tasks planned and scheduled to drive EMR performance.
Workflow Optimization:
Collaborates with key stakeholders at corporate and local facility to streamline workflows, improve documentation and enhance overall system usability.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct testing and quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data stored in EHR systems.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and user feedback to support system audits and future enhancements in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures.
Project Management:
Participates with the ability to team lead in EMR related projects, timelines, and resources to meet objectives and deliver solutions on time, within scope and within budget.
Continuous Learning:
Stays current on industry trends, EMR best practices, along with new innovative technologies to enhance EHR system functionality and optimize healthcare delivery.
Basic Surgery Partners Performance Criteria:

Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance
Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position
Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare
Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year
Is knowledgeable of compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste, and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
A bachelor’s degree in the IT application development field or health data is preferred
3+ years of experience supporting an EMR system
3+ years of experience providing direct IT support for physicians and clinicians
3+ years of clinical experience preferred
Hospital acute care experience is preferred
MEDITECH EMR experience preferred
Knowledge of Service Now application preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Proficient with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills to promote the customer’s experience
Ability to problem solve with good judgment and attention to detail
Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple initiatives, tasks, and projects
Professional communication with skilled business acumen to interact at all levels of the organization
Has attained prior healthcare experience with hospitals, surgery centers, or physician offices
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment
Ability to collaborate and work with a cross functional team
Maintains regular attendance habits, follows directions, takes initiative
Ability to work with minimal supervision to accomplish the task
Ability to manage frequent interruptions that result in having to re-evaluate priorities
