Title: Assistant Food Technologist

Job Description:

As an Assistant Food Technologist on a fixed-term contract until December 2026, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing food products that align with market trends and consumer preferences. Your duties will include creating new recipes, refining existing ones, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and profitability. You will work between our Culinary Centre in Trafford Park and our Media City office, with occasional opportunities to work from home depending on the project. You will have the chance to work on brands such as Crunchy Nut, Extra, Special K, and All-Bran as part of a team reporting to the R&D Lead for Adult Brands.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept to launch, ensuring seamless execution and optimal efficiency. A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

Innovation – Developing new products and processes and modifying existing ones working in the kitchen and pilot plant.

Testing – Running plant trials of new products and coordinating first productions.

Research – Researching consumer markets and latest technologies to create new product concepts.

Procurement- Selecting raw materials and ingredients and preparing product costings to ensure profitability.

We’re Looking for Someone With

Degree in food/scientific discipline or higher education with relevant experience.

Passion for creative product development in the food sector.

Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

High levels of proactivity and a results-driven mindset, with a focus on keeping the consumer at the center of our efforts.
