Responsibilities & Qualifications

In this role:

As an AWS Cloud Developer (Software Engineer/Senior Software Engineer) you will:

Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration, emphasizing shared goals and mutual support.

Contribute to technology solutions for a platform team supporting other IT Value streams.

Work collaboratively with experienced engineers to complete moderately complex tasks.

Apply enterprise architecture principles to design, develop, test, and implement modern software solutions.

Focus on continuous improvement and increased team performance, following DevSecOps best practices.

Build and maintain strong relationships across IT departments and the enterprise.

Design, develop, and deploy scalable serverless applications using AWS services.

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based deployments.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship in AWS best practices.

Create integrations with other applications using APIs and message queues.

Design and develop relational databases required for applications.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience.

At least four years of hands-on, direct work experience in AWS.

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.

Solid programming experience in Node.js, Typescript, Java for cloud-based applications.

Strong understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven design patterns.

Experience in working within Agile and DevOps environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot cloud-based applications.

Experience working with RESTful HTTP APIs

Experience working in relational databases such as AWS Aurora

Experience with object-oriented programming.

Experience developing enterprise applications.

Knowledge of technical methodologies including project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), Change management.

Work experience in any source control tool (Git is preferable)

Open to learning other programming language(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in software development using the following.

Language: Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML, JSON, SQL, C#

Database: DB2, SQL Server, No SQL

Frameworks: Spring Boot, Angular 11+, Zurb Foundation, JEE, NPM/Maven/Gradle, .NET

Application/Web Servers: WebSphere, Tomcat, IIS, Nginx

Integration:  MuleSoft, Tibco, REST API, Message Queues

DevOps: Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD

Other Tools: JIRA, Confluence

Cloud: AWS, Azure

Knowledge/Experience in content management platforms such as Nuxeo

Knowledge/Experience in content communication platforms such as SmartCOMM

Knowledge/Experience in building test automation scripts using tools such as karate/TestCafe.

Knowledge/Experience in building & maintaining WPF applications using .NET Framework.

The base pay range is based on the market evaluation of the job and may include pay for multiple levels. Individual base pay within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including experience, performance, education, and demonstration of skills and competencies required for each role. Your recruiter can discuss the full value of our total compensation package with you, including our generous bonus plans and flex-hybrid work model.

Base Pay Range: $99,985.50 – $149,449.65 Per Year

Texas Mutual’s flex-hybrid schedule allows you to bring your best self to work by working remotely and collaborating in the office based on business needs. All Texas Mutual employees are required to have Texas residency and travel to their designated office as needed.
