Job Description:

The Director of Operations will work closely with our executive team  to strategize and develop long-term plans to usher in higher levels of productivity and success for the World Surf League. The ideal candidate will have experience in dynamic work settings with outstanding critical thinking, organizational, and leadership skills.

This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will sit in our WSL HQ in El Segundo, California in a hybrid working environment (three days per week in office).

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Developing and executing operational plans to align with overall company strategy

Collaborate with team leaders to develop and track performance goals and long-term operational plans

Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and cross-functional collaboration across departments and regional offices worldwide

Lead reporting efforts to consolidate financial, analytical, and operational performance and identify key insights that will inform future decision-making

Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of key workstreams

Overseeing budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and managing expenses to optimize profitability

Compliance management- Ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and industry standards

Develop strong working relationships with department heads and regional presidents

Qualifications:

8+ years relevant experience in operations, consulting, IB/PE, corporate/business development, or related fields

BA / BS Degree, Masters Degree a plus

Expert in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint or Google Suite

Financial acumen and budgeting expertise

Excellent leadership and organizational abilities

Strong presentation skills with the ability to summarize and present key findings

Superior knowledge of industry regulations and operational guidelines

Proven knowledge of performance evaluation metrics

Working knowledge of data analysis software packages

Outstanding negotiation skills

Salary Range: $140,000.00 – $160,000.00 based on relevant experience
