Medtech Insight is an online, subscription publication that works to keep its readers informed of the biggest news and trends affecting the global medtech industry. We track policy, regulation and commercial developments in the worlds top markets and emerging geographies, providing our subscribers with up-to-the-minute news coverage and seasoned insight to help them capitalize on opportunities and avoid costly pitfalls in todays competitive and fast-moving medical devices, diagnostics and digital health sectors.

The Role:

Medtech Insight, part of Citeline, has an exciting opportunity for a reporter/journalist to join our international editorial team and become part of an industry-leading pharma, medtech and consumer health intelligence business.

As Reporter, you will work with managing and senior editors to help evolve our coverage of key policy and regulatory developments, market access issues, the medical device and diagnostics commercial landscape, and intersections with pharma and digital health. You will interview and develop working relationships with industry leaders and experts and conduct research to identify potential story directions and other content opportunities.

You will be asked to cover virtual and in-person industry events and contribute to Medtech Insights podcasting and infographic work in addition to writing short- and long-form articles to keep our readers informed and support their strategic decision making.

Responsibilities:

Turn around daily assignments and, once up to speed, actively pitch stories on a regular basis

Cultivate expertise and contacts in key topic areas

Conduct and write up interviews with subject matter experts

Travel to cover industry events

Contribute as needed to daily proofreading and production

Deliver personal key performance indicators

Requirements:

Whilst our ideal candidate is an experienced journalist with strong knowledge of global medtech regulations and market dynamics, we also welcome applications from candidates who can convincingly demonstrate some number of the following:

Ability to write clearly, news writing skills, and keen judgment;

intellectual curiosity ie: desire for knowledge, preparedness to ask and learn, and an authentic interest in other perspectives

Ability to participate in cross-functional teams and maintain communication with colleagues and managers on work in progress, including use of workflow tracking tools

General awareness of issues affecting the global health care space

Good interpersonal skills in event coverage settings and ability to gain the confidence and cooperation of sources

Flexibility to cope with challenging workloads and occasional unexpected scheduling;

ability to understand and interpret data

Computer literacy MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and capacity to learn custom editorial systems

Strategic use of social media (LinkedIn, Twitter);

Relevant Bachelors degree such as journalism, sciences, languages, or economics, and/or equivalent career experience.

Nice to have the ability to speak more than one language (English); German, Spanish and/or Chinese could be particularly useful

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $55,000 to $60,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
