What your typical day will look like

As Deloitte strives to become a truly data-driven organization, we are expanding our data and analytics capabilities, creating value, improving performance and reducing risk for our clients, our firm and our people. We also support our engagement teams, who help clients navigate the new risks created by the increased use of data and artificial intelligence technologies. For this position, we are looking for a Senior Director who will help develop and promote data governance capabilities.

 

We are looking for a seasoned professional with experience in implementing data governance operating models, with a primary focus on the responsible use of AI, data and AI risk management, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will also have proven project team leadership abilities through the implementation of data governance and management platforms as well as data literacy and development programs, as well as experience coaching and mentoring professionals and an ongoing commitment to personal and professional growth.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Develop and implement comprehensive data governance strategies that align with the firm’s goals, ambitions and vision. Integrate data quality, metadata management, and other risk management frameworks into the data lifecycle to ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

• Provide coaching and mentoring to domain and data managers on the vision of the data governance operating model, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Offer guidance and support to help members of the Data Governance team deliver data stewardship services and achieve their career goals.

• Assist in the preparation and facilitation of meetings of the Data Office Steering Committee, Data Council, and Data Governance Working Group.

• In collaboration with the project technical team, ensure the implementation and adoption of the data catalog as well as the data governance platform and capabilities.

• Identify opportunities to enhance existing data management capabilities and assist in the preparation of a business case for investment. Collaborate with other Deloitte functions to increase the use of new or enhanced data management capabilities.

• On a daily basis, support the teams responsible for technology and client missions in the adoption of data governance best practices.

• Contribute to the development of thought leadership documents in the area of data governance, responsible AI, data and AI risk management, and regulatory compliance.

• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technological innovations, and regulatory requirements for data and AI.

• Have a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.

You have:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or computer science, or relevant training and work experience in data analytics, data science, or machine learning;

• A minimum of five years of direct work experience in data governance and management positions;

• A minimum of five years of experience in managing, strengthening and deepening key relationships, interpersonal management skills, including exceptional communication, presentation, business writing and other professional skills, including the ability to communicate with technology and business contacts;

• Strong attention to detail, structured problem-solving skills and logical thinking, as well as the ability to develop and present new ideas, and conceptualize new approaches and solutions;

• Ability to stay abreast of industry trends, data and AI regulatory requirements and adapt quickly to new technologies;

• Team player and ability to work in a hybrid model (on-site and remote);

Due to the nature of the role requiring interactions with both domestic and global clients, English is required for this position.

Total compensation

 

The salary range for this position is $104,000 to $215,000. Some individuals may be eligible for our bonus program. On the salary front, Deloitte focuses on fairness and competitiveness.
