The expected base salary range for this position is $55,980 to $87,000. This salary range may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, education, and geographic location.
JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical eLearning Specialist develops comprehensive virtual classroom, interactive
multimedia instruction, and advanced training programs for clinical research professionals and/or
participants in clinical research trials. Job duties may include design of program certification assessments,
calculators, and other tools for clinical research professionals.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Degree in Instructional Design/Technology, or equivalent experience.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience and demonstrated knowledge of instructional design methodology/principles, adult learning techniques, as well as blended and eLearning course development best practices.
Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated skill in at least 3 of the following areas are necessary for this position:
Audio/Video (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Media Encoder, Camtasia)
Graphics (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Web technologies (Flash, XML, HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, and JavaScript)
LMS Administration including course upload, reporting, etc.
eLearning development experience using authoring tools such as Captivate, Articulate Studio/Storyline/360, and published in SCORM or AICC.
Experience with video/audio production, post-production and editing is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and proofreading/copywriting skills. Attention to detail a must.
Ability to identify and implement additional applications as needed.
Standard concepts, practices, and procedures of various facets of multimedia design, training, and database structures including applicable software and programming.
Experience with localizing content and multimedia for international audiences a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able
to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Partner with subject matter experts, project managers, training specialists, department managers,
IT colleagues, and clients to assess, review, design, develop, and implement innovative and effective training materials.
Independently develop SCORM-compliant eLearning solutions using authoring tools (Captivate, Articulate Studio/Storyline/360), web technologies (XML, HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, and JavaScript), and audio/visual/graphics tools (SnagIt Studio, Sound Forge, Camtasia, Sorenson Squeeze, and Adobe Premiere, Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop).
Ensures effectiveness and production quality of training content, including consistent branding and appropriate legal clearances; maintains records of original materials and revisions; uploads learning objects (tutorials, tests, forms, etc.) to external and internal learning management systems (LMS) as required; ensure that materials are updated and improved at regular intervals
Along with other eLearning team members, maintains tracking of current eLearning projects, including specific training needs, key timepoints, and delivery deadlines; communicates these timepoints and deadlines to Clinical Science routinely to ensure successful delivery of contract deliverables.
Liaise with the scale management team regarding translation inquiries and process.
Along with other eLearning team members, maintains a media library of all available eLearning modules, including standard and sponsor-specific versioning, available languages, and available test and scoring exercises.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
