Position Details:
You will provide quality service in the area of Human Resources and Payroll by answering inquiries on policies, programs, and through resolution to inquiries for all team members through multi-channel support for the entire team member life-cycle, from hire to retire and will be a critical partner to the HR Operations team and other key stakeholders to
support HR process optimization, technology enablement and a best in class team member experience.
Hours of Operation are between 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the role; you will report to a Manager, HR Service Delivery,. This is a hybrid role located in Lake Forest, IL.
You Will:
Acts as an expert in the team on HR matters to resolve complex team member inquiries and issues
Works direct with HR Service Representative to trouble-shoot team member inquiries by leveraging in-depth knowledge of all facets of HR
Provides an exceptional service experience to all active and inactive team members on HR matters and promotes level 0 support when applicable
Responds to team member inquiries consistently in a timely, accurate, and professional manner and demonstrates the ability to translate inquiry into a case management application during the interaction
Embraces curiosity by asking the right, probing questions to get to the root of an issue to solve beyond the initial inquiry from a team member
Maintain an organized workflow by monitoring and following up on all items assigned, including seeing problems through to resolution and closure with team members
Functions as a liaison with other HR teams, vendors and third-party administrators to resolve team member inquires
Maintains deep and broad understanding of Human Resources while providing information/guidance relating to policies and procedures, payroll, total rewards, talent programs, and performance management
Works closely with HR Operations team to flag themes and trends around team members questions to drive more standardized documentation and support self-service and/or technology enablement
Demonstrated ability to thrive managing multiple ambiguous situations across many levels within the organization
Quick learner; can understand and thrive executing against documented processes and build strong technology acumen around all Grainger tools
Maintains a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Grainger policies, programs, and technology by staying current on all facets of HR and participating and executing on all available training
You Have:
Excellent service and problem solving/resolution skills
Demonstrated ability to handle escalated, sensitive, and often complex team member issues.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with team members at all levels.
Ability to de-escalate emotional situations and manage through tough situations with ease
Strong analytical and organizational skills while keeping close attention to detail
Deep and broad understanding of all HR policies, programs and processes
Superior command of all HR policies, programs, systems, tools, and processes to enable the ability to efficiently and effectively navigate team member escalations
Strong technical aptitude with ability to work in a myriad of technology platforms simultaneously to gather information and resources to effectively provide the right resolution to a team member’s inquiry
Ability to work independently and make unsupervised decisions to respond to team member inquiries and issues.
Familiarity of pay impacts as a result of benefit enrollments, garnishments and taxes
Demonstrates good judgment and maintains confidentiality and privacy (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996) of all personal, payroll or sensitive data in all interactions
Proficiency with ERP systems, SAP HR / Payroll and SuccessFactors experience strongly desired
