Robert Half has partnered with a local firm who is looking for a Tax Manager in Fresno, California, to join our team in the public sector. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance processes, tax planning strategies, tax preparation, and tax returns. This role requires proficiency in IRS regulations and Lacerte Tax Software, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.

This role can be fully remote, the candidate would need to live in the PST time zone and have a California CPA license.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee tax compliance processes to ensure adherence to regulations

Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies

Prepare and submit tax returns and related documentation

Use Lacerte Tax Software and Microsoft tools for tax-related tasks

Resolve any tax-related issues or discrepancies promptly

Collaborate with team members and other departments to streamline tax procedures

Stay updated with current IRS regulations and tax laws

Monitor changes in tax legislation that may affect the organization

Provide guidance and support in tax audits

Generate reports and present tax-related findings to the management team

Requirements

Possession of a Bachelors / Honours Degree in a relevant field

Demonstrated experience in a Tax Manager role within a public sector environment

Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

Familiarity with IRS regulations and standards

Experience in using Lacerte Tax Software

Comprehensive knowledge of Tax Compliance Processes

Ability to develop and implement Tax Planning Strategies

Experience in Tax Preparation and handling Tax Returns

Capable of working independently and in a team environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities

High level of integrity and professional accountability

Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and developments

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
