This position is eligible for hybrid remote work on a part-time basis once the incumbent has gained the proficiency to perform work independently. However, regular, scheduled office hours are also required.

Here’s what you will do:

As the Hearings Division Program Support Coordinator, you work closely with Hearings’ Division management to assist with hearing and mediation planning and evaluation, including administer WCB’s Mediation Program, which handles approximately one-third of the Hearings Division workload. This includes:

Gathering data and providing analysis to assess Hearings Division workload allocations, create statistical reports, communicate findings, and make recommendations to the WCB management team

Adapting program methods and providing in-depth analysis, evaluation, and reporting of mediation scheduling and outcomes

Making recommendations to Hearings Division management for program and process improvements

Scheduling and tracking of mediations

Providing program information, education, and explanation of rules and guidelines to stakeholders and members of the public

Coordinating ALJ travel, including accompanying ALJs to remote hearing locations as needed

Providing confidential administrative support to the Presiding Administrative Law Judge

Here’s what you need to qualify:

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program and two years’ experience coordinating or administering a program

OR

Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience coordinating or administering a program

Requested Skills:

Knowledge regarding database computer systems, statistical information gathering methods and analysis, and the development of extensive spreadsheets

Extensive experience in high-level administrative support

Familiarity with medical and legal terminology

Ability to prioritize work with conflicting priorities and ability to meet deadlines

Preference may be given to individuals with project management training, a thorough working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation Board rules and regulations, or familiarity with administrative law
