About our role

Based at our Head Office at Chifley

A fantastic opportunity is now on offer for a Vendor Assurance Technologist to join our Food Safety & Quality team. Reporting to the Vendor Assurance Manager, you will operate within the program that oversees and monitors Simplot Australia’s suppliers and materials to reduce Food Safety & Quality risk from supply.

This includes:

To assure and partner with our suppliers of ingredients, materials, finished goods and services to provide safe and consistent quality products for our consumers;

Reduce food safety and quality risk through audit and QA compliance;

Ensure a best practice approach to Vendor QA; and

Create, maintain consistent and continuously improve audit approach and outcomes across suppliers.

What you will do

You will ensure a best practice approach to supplier Quality Assurance and maintain a consistent risk based monitoring program for suppliers and materials.You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and ensure a sound working relationship with our outsourced partner for supplier auditing.

Activities include:

Conducting supplier audits and support the supplier audit program,

Supporting FICA program and Import permit process,

Managing customer complaints for external manufacturers,

Support product pre compliance program,

Partner with Logistics and Procurement to successfully on-board and risk assess suppliers,

Operating cross functionally (Procurement (insourced & external manufacturing), Site QA Managers, New Product Development Teams and, JR Simplot Counterparts), and building effective relationships with external stakeholders including service providers, suppliers and indirect service providers.

About you

Lead auditor qualified

Degree Qualified in Food Technology or similar

Ability to regularly travel domestic and internally

Highly organised with strong written and verbal skills.

Ability to build relationship with suppliers

Effective internal and external stakeholder management

Able to build the bridges to mitigate risk

Can engage the right stakeholders

Hold a growth mindset

Focus on risk management

Experienced in Food Safety & Quality Systems in a Food / FMCG manufacturing environment

An understanding of the Food Standards Code

Customer and GFSI Standards will be viewed favourably
