Tinder seeks a visionary and hands-on Director of Product Design to lead and inspire our Growth and Revenue design teams. In this pivotal role, you will drive the design strategy and execution for products that fuel Tinder’s growth and optimize revenue streams. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Data Insights, to create user-centric experiences that delight users and drive business results.

Where you’ll work:

This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration two times per week. This position is located in West Hollywood, California.

In this role, you will:

Lead the Design Team: You’ll lead and mentor a group of designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment and ensuring high-quality design across all growth and revenue projects.

Strategic Vision and Execution: Develop a design strategy that aligns with Tinder’s business goals, focusing on user acquisition, retention, and monetization. You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on design work, guiding your team through every stage of the process.

Be Hands-On: Actively participate in the design process, contributing directly to projects when needed. Lead by example in both your design work and strategic thinking.

Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to identify opportunities and deliver impactful design solutions that support key business metrics. Ensure alignment and clarity between design and other teams.

Coach and Mentor: Provide guidance and support to your team, helping them navigate complex and ambiguous challenges. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

Focus on the User: Ensure that design decisions are driven by user research, data analysis, and a deep understanding of user behavior, advocating for the user at every stage of the product lifecycle.

Innovate: Stay ahead of industry trends and new technologies. Continuously explore new design methods and tools to enhance the user experience and drive growth.

Communicate Effectively: Clearly communicate design strategies and concepts to senior leadership and other stakeholders, showing how design contributes to business goals.

Measure Success: Use data to measure the success of design initiatives, iterating on designs to improve performance and user satisfaction.

You’ll need:

Experience: 5+ years of experience leading a product design team, ideally focusing on growth and revenue projects. Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring design teams.

Hands-On Leadership: Ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with detailed design work. Comfortable guiding your team through complex, ambiguous challenges.

Design Expertise: Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, UX/UI best practices, and the ability to translate business goals into compelling designs.

Collaboration: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Analytical Skills: Strong ability to use data to inform design decisions and measure success.

Innovation: A history of innovative thinking and a passion for pushing design boundaries to achieve business goals.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
