Compensation: Our salary range is between $83038.35 and $103797.93 depending on qualifications and experience.

About the Role
Join the Corporate Relations Office as a Bilingual Briefing Note Specialist. In this role, you will prepare briefing notes and reports for Ministers and senior management, coordinate feedback and approvals from CMHC’s business lines, and ensure products meet editorial standards and are appropriate for the target audience, all in a performance-driven and deadline-driven environment. Products are typically intended for Cabinet, the President of CMHC, senior management and the Board of Directors.
This is a temporary position lasting 12 months.
What you will do:
Respond to customer requests and proactively produce accurate, relevant and concise information materials;
Conduct targeted searches to locate relevant documents in the Company’s files, as well as additional information as needed, and consult with experts to obtain further information;
Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of issues and news in the internal and external environment;
Track multiple concurrent files (projects) and interact with business areas at all levels to explain the context of deadlines and ensure that deadlines are met;
Assess the level of risk presented by files on a case-by-case basis and route approvals accordingly, in accordance with the guiding principles;
Ensure that information documents comply with the models established by CMHC and, on a case-by-case basis, propose variations or improvements;
Provide a challenge function within business sectors to ensure that documents are appropriate for the target audience and contain sufficient information.
Skills you should have:
A bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business administration, communications or equivalent, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of Cabinet affairs, ministerial briefing notes and correspondence and corporate relations, or a combination of education and relevant experience;
Proven experience in writing or editing information documents for senior management;
Proven skills in project management;
Knowledge of the federal political system, federal institutions and policy development;
Excellent communication skills (written and oral, negotiation and persuasion) with diverse audiences;
A proven ability to deliver high quality work under tight deadlines and with frequently changing priorities;
Excellent organizational skills â ability to effectively and simultaneously manage multiple competing tasks and deal with conflicting priorities;
Bilingualism (French and English).
It would be great if you also had these skills:
Knowledge of ministerial correspondence management software.
