We are looking for a Senior Marine Underwriter based in Paris.

Your Team

You will be part of a dynamic, international Marine Hull and Cargo team, primarily based in Paris, and operating within the broader Specialty Hub across Europe. The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Regional Head of Marine, you will take responsibility for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet the Marine Cargo targets in compliance with the underwriting guidelines and underwriting authority. You will negotiate pricing and terms and conditions, and take ownership of accounts and clients, whilst developing and maintaining strong relationships with producers and clients.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

You will assist in the successful execution of the Marine business plan

You will underwrite new and renewal business

You will demonstrate in-depth technical expertise and lead capabilities

You will Negotiate participation, pricing, and terms and conditions with clients and brokers

You will analyze the existing portfolio to ensure long-term profitability

You will establish and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders

You will contribute to the development of a regional Underwriting strategy for the Marine

You will actively drive involvement of functional areas in the Underwriting process, including Distribution, Risk Consulting, Claims, Operations, etc.

You will collaborate on ad hoc projects in a small and friendly team

What You’ll Bring to the Role

You have Significant experience as a Marine Underwriter.

You have established relationships with brokers at the peer group level and established within the market.

You have a good understanding of the French market and competitor landscape

You have an understanding of the legal and regulatory framework

You have experience working in a complex, global matrix organization.

You have strong data and analytical skills

You have advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

You have good presentation skills

You are fluent in English and French.
