Remuneration: Our salary range is between $83038.35 and $103797.93 depending on qualifications and experience.

About the Role
Join the Municipal Relations team as the Operational Policy Analysis Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with municipal partners by supporting the delivery of programs such as the Rapid Housing Initiative and the Housing Accelerator Fund, as well as CMHC’s overall municipal strategy. In your role as a specialist, you will play a key role in supporting interactions with municipalities, conducting research and analysis, and supporting the team’s operations.
This is a temporary position for a period of 12 months.
What you’ll do:
Obtain feedback from internal and external stakeholders and clients on policy, product, service or system issues and opportunities;
Conduct research and continuously analyze the internal and external environment to identify strategic linkages, opportunities for partnership with governments, and innovative products and methods;
Leads or contributes to the development of risk management strategies, policies, work plans and tools for the sector and other CMHC sectors as required;
Provides informed and detailed guidance, recommendations and advice to senior management on the development of intergovernmental partnerships and innovative policies, products and services or systems, and responds to priority issues;
Prepare a variety of written materials, presentations and briefing materials for senior management and to support internal and external communications;
Represents CMHC at meetings, committees, working groups and advisory bodies, and organizes or directs such activities as required, in order to communicate the Corporation’s priorities and strategic positions and to obtain input on and negotiate specific CMHC proposals;
Identify opportunities and maintain relationships by consulting with internal and external stakeholders, the public and private sectors, academics and other related specialists;
Act as a point of contact for clients and stakeholders to answer questions that require answers and innovative solutions tailored to the industry.
Skills you should have:
A bachelor’s degree in geography, urban planning or a related discipline ⢠A minimum of five years of experience in government relations and policy analysis;
Experience working with government at the federal, provincial or municipal level;
Strong communication skills, including the ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, in a variety of settings and styles;
Proven experience in building and maintaining strategic relationships with multiple stakeholders and an ability to negotiate and influence change;
A mastery of customer relationship systems, with a solid understanding of platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365;
An ability to manage a large volume of work and thrive in a high-pressure environment, with expectations of availability outside of normal working hours;
Bilingualism (French and English).
