Job Description:

The Community Engagement Professional cultivates relationships in the community through advocacy programs, community events, active engagement and strategic initiatives. The Community Engagement Professional’s work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

This position is a combination remote work at home and field facing position that requires about 50-75% travel in surrounding Florida counties with a primary focus on Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. This position also requires bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish or Haitian Creole with ability to pass a Language Proficiency Assessment (offer contingent on passing of assessment).

The Community Engagement Professional builds visibility and credibility of Humana Healthy Horizons throughout the community via events, partnerships and c-suite interactions. Strategizes methods to scale communities and drive greater connections among community members. Engages community members, nonprofits, FQHCs and faith-based organizations. Interprets public health and membership data to implement strategy and influence implementation company initiatives.

This position will work closely with non-profit executives, and requires providing a high-level of customer service and ongoing engagement.

Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows and understands the need for established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field OR 6 years of experience working in a community serving organization, healthcare or government program serving Medicaid beneficiaries, or vulnerable populations.

Bilingual English AND Spanish/Haitian Creole – Language Proficiency Assessment will be performed to test fluency in reading, writing and speaking in both languages. Offer contingent on passing fluency assessment.

Proficient in administration and data management systems

Knowledge of and ability to navigate community resources

Public Speaking Experience

Strong knowledge of CBO/FBO operating structures, SDOH and health equity

Understanding of marketing, social media and public relations and its connection to a field-based role

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Background in corporate social responsibility, community outreach, education and/or nonprofits

Experience in supporting Medicaid health plans and/or underserved populations.

Familiarity with Florida geography and culture, particularly Broward & Miami-Dade counties

Additional Requirements / Adherence

Work Style: Combination remote work at home, travel within the local region of South Florida (Palm Beach, Broward Counties) to include less frequent travel within Miami-Dade county.

Hours/Travel: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time

50-75% local travel to onsite locations attending events to communicate with members, and organizations.

This position must be willing to commute through multiple surrounding counties.

Occasional evenings, overnight and weekends as needed to meet business needs.

Leader will discuss schedule modifications as evenings, overnight and weekend needs apply.

Driver’s License, Insurance, and Automobile Policy

Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the state of Florida, as required

This role is part of Humana’s Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with the state of Florida’s mandatory minimum limits.

Remote Work at Home Requirements

Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.

A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25×10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is REQUIRED.

Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/ HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$52,500 – $72,300 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
